First Need Portable water purifiers

  • What can I do when I travel? I know many resorts use rooftop catch basins and that many countries have very serious water-borne disease problems.

We offer a whole range of portable drinking water equipment under the First Need product line. This includes the First Need Deluxe, First Need Trav-L-Pure, and First Need Base Camp configurations. The First Need Water Purifiers are used by the US Army and UN Peace Keeping Forces. The Trav-L-Pure is so user friendly that it's a pleasure to use - no hoses or dangling lines and pre-filters. It is completely self-contained, neat and convenient to use even in restaurants.

  • What does it remove?

It is effective against Cryptosporidia, bacteria and viruses and removes unpleasant tastes and chemicals. It is the only non-chemical water purifier certified to EPA Guide Standard for microbiological purifiers against bacteria, cysts and viruses.

  • Do I have to boil water before I can drink it?

No. The purifier purifies water instantly without the need for boiling it first.

  • Does it contain chemicals?

No

  • How hard is it to set up and use?

It has an easy-grip, double-action handle which provides comfortable pumping, or use the Gravity Assist connection for hands-free purification without pumping. There is no hold time or double pumping. It can direct connect to most trail and bike water bottles.

  • How effective is it?

No other system, regardless of price, can match First Need purifiers' combination of all-round effectiveness, reliability, size, weight and operating safety.

  • How do I clean it?

The pump is fully back-washable for cleaning in the field; no brushing, scraping, or contact with pathogens.

  • What does it come with?

A self-cleaning pre-filter, adjustable float, 91cm long inlet hose, integral sanitary cover and nylon carrying bag.
